Baking as a path to healing

After the unexpected passing of my beloved husband of 38 years, the kitchen became my sanctuary. The simple, rhythmic process of nurturing a sourdough starter, kneading dough, and watching it transform into a beautiful loaf became a powerful reminder that healing takes time and that new life can emerge from even the most difficult seasons.

Life Before Sourdough
Before my husband passed away, I had recently begun my journey as a registered nurse. Nursing was a second career for me—actually, a third if we count being a stay-at-home mom, a role that will always hold a special place in my heart.
